As we scroll through social media sites, it is often that we see trending places which makes us want to come visit immediately and have our own amazing experiences in it. But the question that mostly crosses our minds is:
“IS THIS PLACE REALLY WORTH THE EXPERIENCE?”
For this blog, we want to share our honest thoughts when we were given a chance to stay and relax at this popular Glamping place located at beautiful TUBA, BENGUET.
ABOUT VALLEYPOINT CAMPSITE
Valleypoint Campsite is located in the mountains of Tuba, Benguet and inside the Sto. Tomas Forest Reserve. It offers affordable packages including a relaxing stay at their glamping tents and comfortable dorm rooms as well as activities to keep you company throughout the day. The place has an amazing view of the Benguet mountains which gives you that laidback atmosphere you most needed after long hours of travel.
Let us share with you our experience:
🍃LOCATION
Valleypoint Campsite can be easily accessed with private car by typing “Valleypoint Campsite” in Google Maps or Waze. But for those who wants a little more adventure, it can also be reached through riding a local bus.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO READ THIS PART IF YOU DON’T HAVE A PRIVATE CAR.
🌷HOW TO COMMUTE TO VALLEYPOINT CAMPSITE:
From Cubao:
Ride any bus going to Baguio and ask the conductor to drop you off at GREENVALLEY. For us, we rode the GENESIS bus which took us about 6 hours to get to GreenValley.
Once you have been dropped off at Green Valley (you would know if it’s the right place when you see a Petron station at the other side of the road), wait for a jeepney going to Sto Tomas and ask the driver to drop you off at Sto Tomas checkpoint.
From Sto. Tomas checkpoint, walk your way up until you reach Valleypoint campsite.
NOTE: It may take long to wait for a jeepney to arrive, at least in our experience. With this, we chose to just ride a cab going directly to VALLEYPOINT CAMPSITE.
If the driver is not familiar with the place, tell him that it is near Sto. Tomas checkpoint. From the checkpoint, just guide your driver up until you reach Valleypoint campsite.
From Greenvalley drop off point, Valley point campsite is around 7 to 8-min cab ride.
🌷HOW TO COMMUTE BACK TO MANILA:
There are 3 options you can take to get back to the bus drop off point in Green Valley:
- Ride the Valleypoint Campsite’s Shuttle – Php 60/head
We would highly suggest this option but unfortunately the shuttle is not always available. This will be much more convenient than the next 2 options. We just hope that the shuttle will be available especially on weekends.
2. Ride a cab
From Valleypoint Campsite, walk your way down until you reach the Sto. Tomas checkpoint. From the checkpoint, ride a cab to Green Valley (Petron). Just know that it will take long before a cab arrives, so make sure you head off earlier.
3. Ride a jeepney – Php 20/head
Same with riding a cab, wait for a jeepney at Sto. Tomas checkpoint. Again, this option is not advisable if you are in a rush to get home. We waited for more than 45 mins for a cab or a jeepney to arrive to the point where we chose to just start walking. Luckily, as we were walking, a jeepney arrived with 2 more vacant seats and off we go.
Once you reached Green Valley bus drop off point, cross the road to the other side and wait for a bus going back to Manila. Expect for the buses going to Cubao to be FULL especially on weekends.
🍃ACCOMMODATION
🌷TENT (Glamping)
During our stay at Valleypoint Campsite, we were given a glamping tent accommodation for a night stay. In our opinion, staying in a tent would be the best option if you want to have that real camping feels in the cold mountains.
What’s included in the Glamping package:
- Waterproof tent (DUAL LAYER)
- Uratex foam/s with Bed sheets
- Pillow/s
- Fluffy and thick blankets
- Shoe box
- UNLIMITED brewed coffee
- FREE Breakfast
- FREE Parking
- A choice of activity: AIRSOFT 150 rounds rifle or ARCHERY
- Access to Camper’s chill area, use of board games, books, restaurant and bar, hot and cold showers, view deck
Staying at their tent has never been so comfortable!
We just hoped for a small table to be available in our tent just like how it is presented in the photos for drinking coffee or playing our own board games. Other than that, the dual layer tent really protected us from the rain. The bed is very comfortable and the fluffy blankets warmed us up during the night when temperature drops to around 15 degrees C.
NOTE: Their glamping tents are not advisable for people who struggle in steep stairs and cannot crouch in a low entrance.
There are other accommodation options for those who are not fond of camping or will be coming with a big family:
Same package inclusions with the Glamping Tent, Beds are either SINGLE or DOUBLE DECKS:
- Room for 4 pax
- Room for 6 pax
- Room for 10 pax
You can also share the space with others if you are unable to fill the maximum capacity stated for each room. This will help in availing the same low rate per head.
🍃ACTIVITIES
One of the highlights in our stay in Valleypoint Campsite was the activities they offer. As mentioned at the Glamping tent package, you will be given a free activity of either Archery or Airsoft (150 rounds). If you want to try both just add 100 pesos per head to avail the other activity as well.
- Archery (10-minute game)
- Airsoft Rifle (150 bullets per head)
- Airsoft MAZE Challenge (BEST ACTIVITY!)
We were glad that we were able to try their Airsoft maze challenge, IT WAS THE BEST ACTIVITY OF ALL THE 3 (in our opinion). The adrenaline rush it gives as soon as the time starts plus the incredible feeling when you finally finish the whole course. It was our first time to try this kind of activity and it made us want to do it again.
To avail, just add Php 125 per head for the whole course, for those who have checked in.
Regular price is Php 600.
Channeling our inner Ricardo Dalisay!
ACTIVITIES ARE AVAILABLE STARTING 9:30 AM and NOT AVAILABLE WHEN RAINING HARD.
Note: During weekends, we highly suggest for you to do the activity on your first day. People usually choose to do their activity before they check out resulting to quite a long que (or maybe only during our visit). Better to check with the reception if possible to do the activity earlier than the usual.
-
Camper’s CHILL area
If you are not quite a fan of the previous activities, you can always stay at the Camper’s chill area and relax with your friends. Located at the second floor of the main building, it offers FREE use of board games and BOOKS to read while enjoying the stunning 270 degrees view of the mountains. This is the place where you can charge your gadgets as well whenever needed.
Just please refrain from being too loud when you are with other campers.
FOOD AND DRINKS are not allowed to bring inside the chill area.
Books and board games can only be used at the chill area and restaurant.
-
Kulaaw Art Gallery
An added attraction at the Valleypoint Campsite is the entrance to Kulaaw Art Gallery. This 2-storey are gallery features the works of our local artists. Incredibly made art pieces to fill your eyes and minds. This is one place we enjoyed to see, make sure to check it out during your visit.
JUST IN: It is now included in the packages for NO EXTRA CHARGE!
Kulaaw Art Gallery opens from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 4:00PM to 5:00PM.
Make sure to tell the reception at what time you are planning to enter for them to assist you.
🍃FOOD
Hunger accompanied us as soon as we arrived at Tuba, good thing Valleypoint Campsite has a restaurant which offers a wide menu, from appetizers to desserts. They even have a variety of drinks including beers but do note that they do not sell alcoholic beverages to ages under 18.
Reminder: Please be responsible whenever DRINKING
Foods might cost a little higher than expected especially when you are only a couple. But if you will be coming and purchasing in a group, their dishes are well worth for the price. Big servings and Good Tastes will welcome you as soon as your orders arrive.
Price range: Php 150 to Php 300 up.
Restaurant offers meals to campers at a discounted price. It is best to check in overnight to slash off and save up from food expenses.
DO NOT FORGET to try out their UNLIMITED BREWED COFFEE which are included when you avail their packages.
FREE PURIFIED WATER are available as well at your convenience.
FREE Breakfast is served at:
- 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM during weekends
- 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM during weekdays.
Restaurant is open from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM Daily.
🍃SERVICE
Staffs were very welcoming when we arrived. We have lots of questions including the activities and they were able to accommodate us. They even let us charge our power banks at the restaurant since it will be hard for us to look after it at the Camper’s Chill Area (since we are only 2).
The staff that accommodated us at Kulaw Art Gallery also let us use their umbrella (since it is quite raining that time) while he walk without it.
A BIG THANKS to all the Valleypoint Campsite Staffs!
